So today reports are surfacing that Bernard Madoff, the perpetrator of the largest Ponzi scheme in history, is dying of cancer in a North Carolina Federal Prison.
The 71-year-old is reportedly taking 20 pills a day to treat his cancer and has told other inmates that he does not have long to live.

Shannon Duffy, at Law.com reported on Aug. 19, that a settlement agreement in Klein v. Amtrak called for removing eight legally significant decisions from publication. Two trespassing teens were badly burned by electric catenary wires when they were horsing around on a parked train car. But the train was parked for quite a while and the owner of the train yard and the owner of the train car knew that there were frequent trespassers, so the situation was dangerous. They could have shut off the power to the catenary wire, or posted warning signs — but didn’t. A jury awarded large damages and huge punitives.

A Connecticut Judge has dismissed all murder and rape charges against Kenneth Ireland, a man who spent more than 20 years behind bars for a crime that DNA evidence proves he didn’t commit.
